A stunning banana with similar hardiness as Musa basjoo. Grows to over 4 metres tall and develops a thick pseudostem (trunk). Commonly called the ‘Darjeeling banana’ and native to montane forests of the Indian Himalayas. A small percentage of these plants can exhibit beautiful red streaks through their massive leaves.
